Plant Materials Manager

What you will do
Manages overall plant efforts to assure consistent, economical, and timely flow of both purchased and raw materials to support the manufacturing efforts of the facility to meet the customer's needs and expectations by performing duties personally or through subordinate supervisors and/or support personnel.
How you will do it
1.Manages the Material Planning, Shipping / Receiving, Production Scheduling and Inventory Control functions.
2.Coordinates with Manufacturing and Contract Engineering to assure that materials are on site in a timely manner to facilitate speedy and accurate parts availability to meet customer demands.
3.Develops budget and manpower requirements for the Inventory Control, Shipping/Receiving, Purchasing and Scheduling Departments.
4.Works with Supply Chain Management to identify and qualify Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers, work with Quality to set up and maintain vendor quality acceptance processes.
5.Establish and maintain Kan Ban systems to assure on demand flow of materials to the Manufacturing floor.
6.Handles daily issues in support of production needs such as expediting material, setting priorities, and addressing issues.
7.Establish and manage consignment programs for materials and blanket purchasing agreements for commodity items.
8.Manage Transportation contracts both in-bound and out-bound to assure Customer needs are satisfied.
9.Coordinate all off site inventory locations.
10.Coordinate the scheduling and inventory movement of all outside processing operations.
11.Collaborates with Procurement and manages an aggressive Purchased Material Cost Reduction Program for both Raw Materials and Purchased Parts.
12.Responsible for on-going aggressive cost reduction efforts.
13.Responsible for the replacement of broken equipment.
14.Maintains production levels at the lowest possible cost by using proper methods and manpower to ensure efficiency.
15.Ensures that all warehouse operations are on schedule.
16.Maintains effective working relationship and communication with all departments.
17.Operates within budget and contributes to the overall reduction of overhead and expenses.
18.Complies with EEO and AAP goals and employee development by promoting training activities and opportunities for all employees.
19.Ensures that on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, schedule attainment adherence, DIOH and transportation execution are met while maintaining quality at the lowest possible cost.
20.Executes key Material Principals in Johnson Controls, Manufacturing Systems.

What we look for
Bachelor's degree preferred in an appropriate field of study with four (4) to six (6) years' experience in a warehouse, manufacturing or production area with material management experience.
In the absence of a 4-year degree in an appropriate field of study, this position requires an additional ten (10) years of related experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) as well as Internet software and E-mail is required.
Extended knowledge of Mapics and MRP experience.
May be required to travel 20% of the time.
The Materials Manager position requires Johnson Controls Manufacturing System Material Principal training and certification within the first three months.
Normal mechanical and analytical ability is a must.
Must be able to analyze and interpret complex technical procedures, business periodicals, and journals as well as write reports and procedure manuals.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
